Is CBD Gum Bad For You?

With CBD products such as gum entering the market, the question many of us are asking is is it safe? Is it bad for us? What are the dangers of CBD gum? Fortunately we are on hand to answer these questions in this blog!

Host of Health Benefits

For a start, CBD gum actually carries a host of health benefits opposed to harms. Whilst many people deem CBD gum to be a product with negative implications for our bodies, it actually helps the body. For instance, CBD gum’s anti-inflammatory properties mean that the gum is effective in reducing pain and reducing the symptoms of inflammatory problems. Likewise, CBD has a proven positive effect when it comes to responding to mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, along with a plethora of other worthwhile and scientifically proven health benefits.

Non-Addictive

Many people assume that CBD gum is bad for you because it is addictive, but this isn’t actually true. Thus far, there is no evidence that CBC oil, or gum, can be addictive, unlike cannabis. This is because in order to be sold legally, the THC, which causes the addictive nature of cannabis, is not present in CBD oil or gum, thus making it safe to use without fear of addiction.

Only Typical Side Effects

Another reason people believe that CBD gum is bad for them is because it has side effects such as diarrhea, lethargy and a decreased appetite. However, it is worth noting that these side effects are not experienced among all users and they are the same side effects that come attached with trying any new and unfamiliar medication. What’s more, the side effects are very minor and from evidence it seems that the CBD gum poses no real known risks. It is also worth mentioning that the side effects are often only temporary anyway and wear off once the effects of the CBD gum itself have.

Non-psychoactive

There is also the concern that CBD gum can create a high which can be dangerous, as seen with many other psycho-active drugs. However, CBD gum is not a psycho-active drug at all, since only CBD gum with 0.2% or less THC, the component that causes psychoactive effects, is legally available to buy in the UK.

Although...

With that in mind, it is worth considering that although CBD gum does not appear to be inherently bad for you or pose any major dangers, the product is relatively new and only certain forms have been tried and tested.

It is also important to be wary of illegitimate CBD gum which is retailed illegally since these haven’t been properly tested and regulated so may pose dangers to your health.
